"Thanks for coming." Paxton looked up from his laptop, already seated in a rolling chair in the vast lab. Scientists buzzed around him running their own tests, writing their own reports. Everyone tasked out and working diligently. "How're you feeling after Sootopolis?" he added. A loaded question.

Sootopolis had been nearly a true clash of the Weather Trio. Surely this had an effect on him and freya morningstar . Though, unlike her, Matias didn't suffer form dragon horns and abnormal scale grounds. "You, annalise henderson , and illeana reyes were getting pretty battered for a moment. I think." he added, remembering the shot he took to aid them. It'd revealed countless Rockets closing in on their position, likely drawn in by the chance to fell gods.

Paxton is quick to grimace but he sets aside his work in favor of getting up to greet the Elite 4. "I just delegate, I'm not a nerd." he said. He was under no impression he could rival the collected intellect around him. But someone had to be there to deal with the more administrative work and keep the research on track.

"Anyway, glad to see you walking without a limp." he gave a once over for any left over injuries form Sootopolis. But it seemed like Matias had made it out better than he had. Paxton smiled, happy to hear his friend is in good spirits. "Good. I know people were worried about you and Sootopolis but I knew you'd be fine." SAPPHIRE, after all, was doing it's best to make sure Matias didn't ever slip back into the dangerous thrall of his patron.

"I want to take some blood samples again. As you know, freya morningstar grew some strange features during Sootopolis and I want to compare her and your blood." he frowned. "But that why I figured I'd check in if you felt anything strange, physically, since Sootopolis?"

compared to others, matias looks peachy, almost as though he had fought a different battle altogether. the only signs of battle drag across his lips and cheek, though that battle against Shred happened hours prior.[break][break]

"I know. Still relieved you are." It was normal to worry. Not because of MATIAS SILPH record, but because even with the amount of experience he had, nothing was certain in battle. And he looks ok too. A good look over at Elite Four and he barely had any scratches or bandages on him. Not unscathed, but still pretty good compared to the others he'd met with.

He takes care to check one of Matias' arms and go through the whole process of beginning to pull a blood sample. "I'll take Eva Morales 's soon enough too. I have time." he said. Freya's samples didn't seem like they were fading anytime soon. "I think...during Sootopolis Rayquaza and Kyogre did something strange. freya morningstar 's samples are unusual." he said as he wiped an alcohol wipe on the inside of his right elbow. "You're right though, it is infinity. But it's primal too." He didn't doubt Matias had it inside him as well. But he wanted to know if he had elevated rates.

"I want to know if you're hitting the level of intensity she is. The levels she was at can't be healthy for a human body." But somehow she's fine. Somehow, physically, Matias was also fine post PRIMEVAL.

"She did for the end of Sootopolis." he explained. "Did you catch her transformation?" he asked, half curious, half distracting Matias from the blood sampling. He tries to be quick, capping off vials and cleaning off the site on his arms.

"I'm going to keep these samples as another control." he began to explain. "Rayquaza and Kyogre went through similar processes, I think." He hadn't been terribly close to the whale, but it looked like something had happened once the whale burst through Sootopolis. "I think it's not far fetched to think Groudon might show the same influx of primal energy as the other two." he said

"Have you...and Groudon's relationship changed at all since Sootopolis? For better or worse?" he asked, gesturing he was ok to move his arm and relax.

The little bit of footage they had of Freya's shift locked away for analysis. He cants his head towards Matias. "Ideally, the bond you have is balanced. I'm glad it's backed off a bit." In his eyes, Matias was still very clearly Groudon's chosen.

"Oh- a development?" he grows curious, , reaching over for a notepad to annotate his observations. "How did you discover this?" he asked, waiting to see.

"As far as I know, an avatarship is deeply personal. I'm already ruffling feathers by poking more into the relationship of these powers on your bodies." he said with a small shrug. If people were training- testing the limits of the infinity on their own flesh- he didn't know much about it.

"Mmm...so you think it may be similar to the previous Groudon's avatar? Something you may have seen them do?" He dutifully, moves a couple of feet back to let Matias have some space to work.

But then shouldn't be surprised what the Commissioner will do once they're discovered." freya morningstar had already threatened disciplinary action before. He doubted the rest of the council wouldn't act the same in the new era of War they'd entered.

"right, we have some training grounds outdoors." It's no issue. The League owned this place after all. "Lead the way." he said, allowing Matias to take the lead to somewhere less stifling. He directs scientists to take over the samples and add it to his file. He'd skim over the results compared to Freya's later. "So did it come to you in a dream or just....a peace offering from Groudon?"
